A custom batch is a minimum of 5 pieces, and because it is made specially for you it is paid in advance rather than cash on delivery. Everything already on the shelf stays cash on delivery, one piece if that is all you want.

Our Craft

From Nature to Bar

Four steps, all of them by hand, in batches small enough to count.

Step One

Select

We choose the botanicals first, by hand — sandalwood, neem, rice, nila, saffron — and only then decide what the batch will be.

Step Two

Blend

Each one is ground and blended into the base in small quantities, so the botanical is really in the bar and not just on the label.

Step Three

Craft

The batch is poured by hand into the mould, left to set, then cut and trimmed one bar at a time.

Step Four

Cure

Then it waits. Curing is what makes a bar firm and long-lasting, and it is the step there is no way to hurry.

Five botanicals we keep coming back to, and what each one brings to a bar.

Courtyard staple

Neem

The bitter green leaf that has grown in courtyards across the subcontinent for centuries. Ground fresh into the batch, it gives a deep herbal scent and the soft green cast you can see in the bar.

Cooling & bright

Mint

Crisp, sharp and unmistakable. A little goes a long way — it lifts the neem, and leaves that clean cooling finish on the skin that suits a Karachi summer.

Warm heartwood

Sandalwood

Real sandalwood, the warm and quietly sweet heartwood that has scented this region's soaps, oils and attars for generations. Grounding rather than sweet, and it lingers.

Hand-picked threads

Saffron

The most precious thing we work with, and the reason the zafran bar is priced as it is. Threads picked by hand, for a golden cast and a scent that reads as luxury before you have read the label.

Creamy & mild

Goat Milk

A rich, gentle, old-fashioned base with a soft creamy lather and a mild scent of its own. Made to order for those who prefer something quieter on the skin.

Our Story

Old Botanicals, Made for Now

Sandalwood, neem, rice and saffron have been on this subcontinent's shelves for as long as anyone has been washing with anything. MORA is simply those same botanicals, made properly, for a bathroom shelf today.

We started in a Karachi kitchen because the soaps we could buy were either full of things we could not pronounce or so precious they were never used. So we began pouring our own — small batches, real ingredients, cured slowly and wrapped by hand. Every bar we send out is one we would keep.
